A New Regional Park Proposal
The Stour Valley Park is a proposal for a regional park where everyone can enjoy the benefits of the natural world.
This park is about making amazing places for people, and creating a landscape for the common good. We need your help to shape the park and make it into a landscape where people and nature thrive.
This visionary park will stretch from the Kingston Lacy Estate to Hengistbury Head on the coast, spanning 25km of the lower River Stour.
The park will straddle the boundary between Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council and Dorset Council and will become a fantastic shared resource for generations to come.
We want to work with farmers and local landowners to improve our soils and water quality. We want to generate jobs that will benefit the community and local economy. We want to support rural enterprise, enhance biodiversity and celebrate the valley’s heritage.
We can only achieve this with your support and participation. There will be many opportunities to get involved through volunteering, training and learning new skills.
Together, we can draw on our history and create a common wealth for the future.
